Does it really matter whether or not the Bible is inspired by God and true if we cannot be certain as to what it means? What is the substantive difference between not having the correct understanding of a fully true book, and having the correct understanding of a book that is not fully true. Either way one’s understanding of the truth will be faulty.
Hopefully this illustrates the need for, not only a fully inspired and true book, but also for a fully inspired and true 2,000 year old tradition to enlighten us as to the true understanding of the book.
