Wisdom from the Fathers

The cardinal attestation of his (St. Siloan’s) whole life is that love for one’s enemies is absolutely indispensable for knowledge of Divine mysteries. He asserted categorically that he who has no love for his enemies is separated from God, does not know God. There was no deluding him. Where there was hatred towards enemies, he saw black depths, whatever the ‘service to God’, whatever prophetic pathos clothed the hatred.
